Caspar Stracke is a German visual artist, based in New York City. He works in video, film, and new media. His video and installation works have been shown in institutions such as MoMa and The Whitney NY, ZKM Karlsruhe, ICC Japan, Yerba Buena SF, Rena Sofia Madrid, among many others. In addition he has exhibited in int'l film and media art festivals throughout North and South America, Europe and East Asia. He is a member of THE THING, a New York-based net art and and media art nexus. Caspar is also the founder of Lossless Video, an on-line list for video art criticism. As a curator Caspar worked for institutions such as Eigth Floor Gallery, Knitting Factory, THE THING and CITYZOOMS Hannover/Barcelona. Since 2005 he is the co-director of video_dumbo a festival for contemporary video art in NYC, co-presented by the Dumbo Arts Center.
