Artist and programmer whose work focuses on the underlying social implications of technology and the Internet. Wisniewski earned his M.F.A. at Hunter College, New York and completed post-graduate studies at the Institute for General Linguistics and Computational Linguistics, University of Stockholm (SWE). He launched ´netomatª as a network-based art project in the summer of 1999. The project introduced an open, free form and flexible alternative to traditional page-based HTML browsers and search engines. In 2000, he co-founded a software company based on ´netomatª. Prior to that, Wisniewski worked as an Advanced Programmer at ibm.com, where he was responsible for developing ibm.com's XML strategy as well as numerous advanced Web prototype applications.
